Tony Callard
Coach
I have been involved in boxing since I was 7 years old. My father, whom I respected very highly, was a dedicated boxing coach who taught that you only get out what you put in. He always told me (and often shouted) this throughout my childhood and into my adulthood. I lived and breathed boxing seven days a week, constantly training locally or sparring at various gyms across the country to a very high standard.
Now, my son is 12 years old and has made the decision to box and become a champion. He is eager to get fit and aim for victory. As a result, I have decided to take my England boxing coaching course, along with First Aid, safeguarding, and a fully enhanced DBS, all of which I have passed with flying colors. I look forward to helping many children in their boxing careers. With my vast experience and knowledge, I believe I can contribute significantly to the club and assist in keeping children off the streets and away from knife crime. In my opinion, knife crime has reached alarming levels, with children harming other children. I would much rather teach "jab and move" than "jab and stab" to help save a child's life.
